Inspection
Now that Husse and Matte have spent a lot of time outdoors taking care of the garden, it is time to remind them of indoor-activities as well. I recently made a surprise inspection of the dishwasher. I made sure the things in the ceiling of the machine were in order and that the walls were spotless, spotless enough to get a beautiful mirror reflection! Honestly, I was impressed... They keep this thing in very good shape, even on the inside! The fact that they had just emptied it from a load of clean kitchen-ware didn't have anything to do with it, right?!

Harvesting
It is harvest time and we've been very busy. As you already know, we've cleaned out one apple tree and made lots and lots of apple sauce. Husse eats apple sauce with everything now. We (or more true: Husse and Matte) have emptied the garden on potatoes, carrots and beets as well as what else they could find. A few days ago they brought in one of the large pumpkins that have been growing in the backyard. It looks rather suspicious. I'ts about my size, but about twice the weight. Peculiar!
Today Husse and Matte stopped by in Jenny's and Håkan's garden, just to check everything looked allright. They brought some apples back (as if they need it!) and some herbs. Tarragon, chives, laurel leaf and mint. They smell sooooo gooooood!!!
I love it!

Moth Hunter
Please feel free to imagine the well-known music to "Deer Hunter"... because I am Moth Hunter! I found a moth in the kitchen Thursday morning and all my hunting insticts kicked into action. Matte found blood traces of my prey all over the kitchen sink and the kitchen floor. When she tried to assist, I carried the moth into the living room where I finally ate it.
Husse and Matte cleaned up and then had breakfast as usual. But instead of just rushing to work, they had to cooperate in cleaning up the moth mess... my stomach didn't really take the moth and together with my breakfast it all landed on the livingroom floor. Husse and Matte are very efficient cleaners! Of course, they did set off for work after that.

I am Moth Hunter

Planning my next move in the garden. Maybe bird "watching"...?!

Meds...
I don't mind really... Of course, it's no fun, but I know Husse and Matte only do what is best for me. If they want me to take the medication, I will. Sometimes it just doesn't go right, the pill is very jumpy and Matte and I get a bit annoyed about it. Luckily, the last pill was swallowed yesterday, so we don't have to go through the ordeal again for a while. Husse took some pictures when we were not so successful a few days ago...
First try, everything seems to go well, everybody is relaxed

There's no place like home
I've been to a cat hotel. Again. A different one this time. Husse and Matte (and I) prefer the usual one, but they had to turn us down and Matte found someplace else for me to stay. They went to a party. Again. Usually parties do not require them to take me to a cat hotel, but this party was a 6-hour drive away. My hotel this time was perfectly allright, but still: there's no place like home! I checked out the house and made sure everything was in order when I got back home Sunday night. I made Matte take me for a walk, so I could make sure everthing was doing fine in the garden too. At night, I decided not to let Husse and Matte out of my sight, so for the first time ever, I decided to spend the night in their bed. They were so flattered and pleased, you wouldn't believe!

Matte, heel!
You already know that I loooove my walks with Husse or Matte. We don't go far, we pretty much stay in the garden. But I really enjoy the walks: I get to go out and investigate everything that I see from the windows. I have to admit though, there are less birds in the garden when I'm there... I think they are scared of Matte and Husse!
I have trained Matte, she has become very good at heeling. She stays on my right (!) side most of the time and close enough for me to feel safe, but also keeping her distance so I can check out things without being disturbed. It's not all that easy though, she tends to complain when I make her sit in the currant bush a little while. I like it there, I have a good view of our neighbour's garden! Matte seems to have an issue with the mosquitos who seem to like it there, though...
This is me, close to the currant bush, Matte is at the other end of the leash

Apple sauce
I have been helping Matte today. When she picked apples from the apple tree, I slept. When she carried all the apples in the house, I slept. When she peeled the apples, I slept. Then, when the apples were sliced (I slept) and were about to be cooked, I was brought in as a watch cat. I took it very seriously and stayed by the pot for as long as Matte needed me there. But I guess I was a little tired... no, no! I didn't sleep! I just closed my eyes for a little while...

Apple parade: they are all "James Grieve" and maybe one or two "Ingrid Marie"

Grounded!
I've been grounded! Husse and Matte locked me in the living room for about 24 hours. I don't know what I've done! To be honest, the living room is my favourite room in the house, so it wasn't too bad. Husse and Matte moved my litter box in there as well, and they brought food and water to me. The windows in the living room overlook the garden and I enjoy watching birds, falling apples and stuff like that. The living room is also my favourit room for napping. So was I really grounded, I wonder? Anyway, they opened up the door just about an hour ago and they have moved back my litter box to where it's supposed to be. While I've been locked up in the living room, the large room in the basement has been changed. The wooden floor is gone it's all cement instead. I checked it out, but didn't find it very interesting.

Grounded!
